Welcome to ‘Mouragio’ in a quiet neighborhood of Ano Syros medieval settlement. We have created here  a unique residence, just two minutes from ‘Piatsa’, where the heart of Ano Syros beats, since cafeterias, ouzo shops and traditional souvenir shops are located there for fine purchases.

A recently renovated house of 74 square meters, with distinct aesthetics, spectacular view and comfort. It can accommodate two persons, offering one bedroom, office and relax room, sitting room, equipped kitchen, bathroom and a porch with unlimited view.

Visitor access

‍Ano Syros is approximately 3.5 km from Hermoupolis port, 10 minutes by means of transport and 15 minutes on foot. It constitutes the continuity of the town of Syros towards the hill. The whole area is built on the slopes of the hill, on top of which lies the Catholics cathedral, Saint George or ‘Sa Tzortzis’, as it is often called on the island. The whole Ano Syros settlement maintains its medieval character and has remained unspoiled through the centuries. Among small houses with arches, cars are not allowed, something which is anywise not easy due to the countless stairs which cross the settlement.

In the past, for fear of sea invasions, entrances to town were blocked  with wooden gates, securing residents from a possible night raid. The settlement had fort features and these gates were the only way of entering.

You can be transferred to Ano Syros by car, taxi or the free public transportation (mini bus). The main entrances of the settlement are Portara, Pano Terma, Kato Terma or Kamara, Skalakia and Sa Bastias.

By car you can reach one of the settlement entrances (Portara, Kato Terma or Ano Terma). Sightseeing can be done on foot. Both Portara and Pano and Kato Terma offer free parking areas.

Our lodging is located relatively near one of the entrances of the settlement, Portara, where a free parking area is provided. From there just a two-minute walk is needed. Entrance is spotted on the map at the back (west) side of the settlement.
